Q-1. I have a new business and this will be my first website. I have no idea how to get my business online. Is this something you can help me accomplish?

A. Yes. This is what we do. With Just Small Business Websites you get a skilled professional to work directly with you and answer all of your questions. You don’t have to be up on the process; we will help with every phase of the project from beginning to end, and the consultations are free.   Back To Top

Q-2. You are in Florida and my business is in New York. Am I smarter to look for a local company?

A. Not at all. Our clients are located in many states as well as in Canada. All materials and copy that you need to see and approve are easily and quickly moved between us via email, fax, toll free phone numbers and instant messaging. This type of service is routine for us. In fact, we have never actually met 98% of our clients. Because of our understanding of your needs and the ease of conveying ideas, it is not necessary to establish a physical presence. We have the ability to conceptualize your project in every detail.  Back to Top

Today, the client can research and work with web designers from around the world and get better service and attention than he might from the company around the corner. Think about it; isn’t that the kind of service that you will be offering to your clients? In online lingo, all distance is zero.

If you were to choose a provider close to your location, how likely is it that you would take valuable time from your day to visit there in person? All of your communication will be done by phone, fax or email in any circumstances. Working online to develop your website is faster and more efficient and more convenient than in person appointments.  Back to Top

Q-3. What other services do you offer?

A. Our client list includes large corporations, small businesses and individuals. At JSBW, clients from across the country and throughout Florida, specifically Southeast Florida including Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, have access to a wide and effective array of search engine marketing packages.  Back to Top

Q-4. I want my site to be like eBay or YouTube. Can you do that?

A. Yes, but websites like those are extremely involved and complex to develop. The cost can exceed $10,000.00. Quotes for comparable websites are provided on an individual basis.  Back to Top

Q-5. How long have you been doing this kind of work?

A. We have been helping businesses develop quality websites since 1994.  Back to Top

Q-6. We are concerned that large companies like you will not want to devote the necessary time to a small project like ours or that the bigger jobs will come first. We really want to work with you, but is our business worth your time and effort? Are we too small to be worth your while?

A. Absolutely, your company is worth our while. No project is too big or too small for us at JSBW. We have worked successfully with businesses and individuals of every description, from start-up companies, corporations, home business owners and more. Although we are a large company, we pride ourselves on having a personal touch. Every one of our clients is assigned a dedicated Project Manager; he or she is the only person you need to contact for all of your questions and concerns. We will be with you every step of the way as your vision becomes a reality. We have the experience and expertise to be your “Web Guys.”  Back to Top

Q-7. I already have a website. Can you help me make it better?

A. Of course. If your site has problems loading or navigation; of if it just doesn’t look the way you want it to, we can help. But we have found that it takes more work to fix an existing website that to build a new one. Back to Top

Q-8. My company provides services to our clients. Will a website help my business?

A. Yes it will. More than 80% of the people who are online at home or in the office are researching businesses that provide services or products. They can obtain any information they could want about your business in an instant, directly from your website and they can do it 24 hours each day, every day of the year.  Back to Top

Q-9. Do I have to be computer savvy to have a website? Does my business have to be a computer-oriented business?

A. The answer is no. You do not even have to own a computer to benefit from a business website. Many companies do routine paperwork without computers. The main function of the website is to grow your business by exposing it to potential clients. The website can be an additional and helpful tool for you as your business operates the way it always has.  Back to Top

Q-10. I have existing logos, brochures and other design materials for my business. Can you use these?

A. We can. If your advertising material does not exist electronically, we can convert it to an appropriate form for use on your website for a nominal fee. Almost any kind of file will work for us. The talented web designers at JSBW will help you to develop an online image that will be compatible with and recognizable to customers who are familiar with your business.  Back to Top

Q-11. What must I do to prepare for getting my business online?

A. All printed material that you have been previously using is an excellent resource for starters. Things like brochures, photos, business cards, etc. are a great help. If this is a new venture, we can help you to get started with all of that. We can create an effective new logo for just $280. Your dedicated JSBW rep will help you through the process and will be there for you to answer your questions and address your concerns.  Back to Top

Q-12. Have you created sites like mine before?

A. Look at it this way: The basic content or goal of a website, or the kind of business it does, rarely affects the procedures and methods that are required to create it. Washing a convertible is no different from washing a sedan. It is true that certain websites may require more technically sophisticated capabilities than others to perform specialized tasks. The people at JSBW have the experience and expertise to address those needs. As is apparent from our portfolio, it is extremely unlikely that we do not have prior experience with the types of function demanded by your website.  Back to Top

Q-13. How does the web design process at JSBW work?

A. We set out to design and build the best website for your business, and the most cost-effective. A well conceived site will expand you professional image, your customer base and your bottom line. To accomplish that, we research your specific needs and design a strategy to create that perfect web experience.

Our process begins with an Initial Consultation to determine your desired goals. Our creative business analysts work closely with you to achieve that result. To help acquire all pertinent information about your company, your consultant will generate a detailed itemization, called a “Design Worksheet,” that includes useful data about your company and products, audience, goals, methods and more. This is an essential step to ensure that we develop a website and solutions that works for you; not us. Telephone meetings are best for this but emails can work if preferred.

Once you are satisfied that all of your concepts, requirements and questions have been addressed, we will move ahead with specific recommendations. There are several valid ways to achieve the same desired result. We explain the approach in detail and discuss the cost of implementation. When you agree with the goals and terms, you receive our formal proposal which lays out all aspects of the project along with a contract and payment schedule.

When all parties are in agreement and all papers signed, we require a 40% Deposit to begin work on the project; the actual design process begins. If there is anything at all about the process that you do not completely understand, please ask for clarification at this point. It is imperative to avoid any chance for miscommunication for the job to proceed smoothly. You are encouraged to call with any questions or comments while your job is in progress.

The next step is Collecting Your Content which you will provide by way of specific text, photographs, etc. that you want included in the site. We can help with free stock photos and optional expert copywriting services for an additional fee. In an effort to minimize costs of Design Development, we ask that you select your basic web design from one of our professional quality design templates. You are free to offer examples from other website design, colors and the like. You may want us to review your competitor’s website as a reference. When that information is received, we show you a Mock-Up of your completed website; usually within a week or so. From this point on, you and your designer work together to attain the finished look and feel of the site.

We are now ready for Design Selection and Finalization. This is the exciting first time look at your mock-up website via a web link that we provide on our servers. At this point you can request additional changes. You view the changes and provide final approval; we then begin Web Development, building the actual website and web pages incorporating the design and content that you provided. When the site is completed, you do a Pre-launch Evaluation by carefully reviewing all of the content to be certain that everything is exactly as you want it. If there are any changes needed to the copy, it is done now and then the site goes live.

The final step is Launching your website. When you have provided final approval and made payment, your website is published on your domain and goes live to be viewed by browsers around the world. If you want us to, we can register your domain name and host the site as well. All of your website needs can be provided from one location. You can depend on us for Ongoing Support once the site is up and running. We will establish a regular review and maintenance schedule to address your requests, user feedback and appropriate upgrades.  Back to Top

Q-14. What do you mean by Website Maintenance and Updates?

A. All websites require occasional changes or tweaking after their initial launch. Keeping current with technology and customer expectations means constant review of the site. It is simply keeping the site up to date. Another aspect of website maintenance is being sure that you are displaying your newest and best copy, photos and the like to keep your site fresh and entertaining and to make your visitors want to return to your site. We are happy to assist you with revisions and desired changes. Our rate for this service is $60.00 hr.  Back to Top

Q-15. Am I obligated to have you host my website?

A. You are not. Unlike other companies, we do not force you to engage us for that purpose. It is however, a distinct advantage for you. If you do choose us, all concerns regarding technical support, hosting and servers is our; not yours. It is so much simpler to have just one number to call for any issues concerning your site. Using us to host your site is streamlined and cost-effective.  Back to Top

Q-16. Can you host our website and register our domain name?

A. Yes indeed. We charge $72 per year to host your site ($125 for CMS sites) and domain names are $20 per year. The service comes with custom email accounts.  Back to Top

Q-17. Can I use my existing website address if you host my website?

A. Yes. You can use your existing domain name or we can register a new one for you as you wish.  Back to Top

Q-18. What materials do you want from me when I purchase my package?

A. It is very basic. We will need a company profile and contact information and a list of your products and services. Include any additional information that you that you want to include.  Back to Top

Q-19. How much input do I have in the process?

A. Your input is important to us. The more you tell us, the better able we will be to identify and satisfy your requirements and to build a website that looks and works as you envisioned. It is your website; it should be what you want it to be.  Back to Top

Q-20. Who is responsible for the copy on my website?

A. Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for the written content of your website which we will place for you. JSBW offers copy writing professionals to assist you for a separate fee if you require it.  Back to Top

Q-21. Once you have built my new website, can I manage it myself? Is it difficult?

A. You can certainly do it yourself. Content Management Sites (CMS) offer several ways to manage your completed website. When we are finished building it, you own it and have full access. You can make any non-structural changes to the site whenever you care to as long as you have the web editing ability to do it. Please be sure to let us know of your decision before you sign on with us. We do offer a Webmaster service for a pre-paid, discounted price of $450, which is $300 less that our regular price.  Back to Top

Q-22. Are you web design charges recurring or onetime costs?

A. Just one charge; onetime as mentioned on our website.  Back to Top

Q-23. Do you have your own servers?

A. Yes we do. We have a full rack of servers in our datacenter in Minnesota.  Back to Top

Q-24. What is your typical turn-around time?

A. That is a difficult question. Because our work requires a high level of customized service, and because we work so closely with our clients on each project, predicting an exact time frame is inappropriate. It is to the advantage of all concerned to complete the job in a timely manner and we will work diligently to complete the website design but delays can occur. Any action that requires action on your part, like approving mock-ups or changes, can add time to the project if not completed expeditiously.  Back to Top

As an example; a five-page website can take from two to six weeks once we receive your content and input. One month is about average but it can be more or less depending on how quickly you respond. The process can be expedited for an additional fee. It is fair to say that the length of a job is in large part dependent on the response time of the client. The faster the client moves, the faster we can complete the job. The opposite is, of course, also true.  Back to Top

Q-25. What if I do not like the finished product; can I get my money back?

A. At Just Small Business Websites, we provide the highest quality professional services to all of our clients. If you are not satisfied with your new website, you may receive a guaranteed refund of up to 100% of the paid advance. This is how our refund policy works:

A 100% refund of the client’s deposit will be made if it is requested before our receipt of client supplied content and/or before that content has been assigned.

The following refund restrictions apply:
• This policy applies to all purchases made on or after June 23, 2010 only.
• Refund of the deposit will not be made after the allotted rounds of revisions have been requested.
• Refund of deposit must be requested within seven calendar days from the date of the original order.
• Refund of deposit does not apply to domain registration fees.
• Refund of deposit does not apply to express service clients.
• All refund requests must be made in writing.
• Refund of deposit does not apply to updates or to add-ons to existing website.  Back to Top

Q-26. Are any payment plans available?

A. Our usual terms are 40% of the agreed upon total to be paid before any work begins and an additional 50% of the total contract fee to be paid upon design approval. The remaining 10% of the total agreed amount will be paid before the website is published and goes live. It is understood that the total length of time required for the complete process will vary from one to three months depending on the complexity of the project. This plan is offered to help make payment for the project more manageable. Certain restrictions do apply. Payment plans are not available for web hosting or additional services.  Back to Top

Q-27. What are your regular business hours?

A. Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM  Back to Top

Q-28. Do you have emergency support availability during non-working hours?

A. Normal telephone support is available during regular business hours. We do give our clients the phone numbers of certain key individuals who can be contacted at those numbers in case of a legitimate emergency.  Back to Top

Q-29. What is to best way to pay; how do we get started?

A. It is our experience that payment through Paypal is the most efficient and also the most secure form of payment. Naturally we will accept personal checks as well. If you do not have a Paypal account, we can send you a Paypal invoice which you can pay using a credit/debit card or bank transfer.  Back to Top

Q-30. Can I call some of your clients for references?

A. You certainly can; we encourage it. We have no way to know if they will be available but it can only work to our advantage if you get in touch with our previous clients. For a few quick references, please check out the testimonials page on our website. Few companies can boast of a portfolio of comparable size. Our list of satisfied customers is our greatest asset.  Back to Top

Q-31. Do you do web design for adult enterprises?

A. No, we do not.  Back to Top

Q-32. For a company that offers such high quality services, your prices seem very low. How can you do that?

A. There are many factors that affect our pricing structure. First among them is our clients. At JSBW we understand that without satisfied customers we have no business. Therefore, we endeavor to keep our clients happy in every way possible; the most important being our superior quality. Happy customers talk to other business owners and potential clients. We obtain more new clients via word-of-mouth than we do through traditional advertising methods. That translates to very low advertising cost for us and lower prices for you.

The nature of our business allows us to research the most cost-effective methods of promotion for our business. Every dollar we spend to expand our customer base pays for itself many times over. In a way, we actually make money through advertising. Our operation is efficient and streamlined; there is virtually no wasted effort and no wasted money. Because our professional staff is so capable, a smaller staff does more good work than others of twice the size. All of this conspires to create the best product for the best pricing. It’s just good business planning.  Back to Top

Q-33. What is an SSL Certificate?

A. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. An SSL certificate is a computer protocol that allows for the secure transfer of transactions between your computer, the web browser and the server which is where your website lives. The certificate is created specifically for your website and will not work on any other. When sensitive data are transmitted from a client’s computer to your site, the SSL sends a message to the browser on the client’s computer with instructions for encoding the data before it travels the internet. Only the SSL can decode the message, ensuring security while out on the internet.  Back to Top

Q-34. Do I need an SSL Certificate for my ecommerce website?

A. Merchant services companies require that data be transmitted to them with an SSL Certificate. If you do not, you may be in violation of your contract with them and responsible for the loss of sensitive client information. Your client will receive a message that yours is an unsafe website thereby causing valid concern and possible loss of business. Paypal does not require a certificate because no sensitive information is entered in your website by the client. Instead, your customer is directed to secure Paypal website where that information is entered.  Back to Top

Q-35. For the price you charge, the quality of your work is amazing. Do you get many compliments?

A. Yes we do. Our goal is to become one of America’s best web design and web marketing companies by making our services affordable and our client’s websites successful. We are confident that news of our excellent quality services will be passed on from customer to potential customer and we will be recognized as being the best at what we do.  Back to Top

If you were satisfied with your experience working with us, please help us by telling your friends and business associates. They will thank you for it. We promise.
